Custom molded earplug speakers are popular with riders since they reduce wind noise while providing high quality audio reproduction (often at lower volume levels).

This adapter from Now Hear This allows a rider to use many standard intercom systems with earplug speakers. On the K1200LT it velcros to the dash under the connector and can be left in place. Once installed, you do not need to remove it as you change from in-ear speakers to helmet speakers. When the earplug speakers are plugged in, the audio goes to them while the headset's mic is still active. When not plugged in, the audio goes through the helmet speakers as before. In case of rain, a rubber stopper is provided to plug the stereo opening on the box when not in use.

Adapters are also available for the Honda Gold Wing, Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, the Autocom Pro M1 and Pro 7 Sport, and the Chatter Box.

Prices vary according to model. The BMW K1200LT model is $55 plus $5 shipping. Now Hear This visits most larger rallies for custom-fitted earplugs and adapters.
